Izidorio Cavalcanti

I went to visit some art galleries in Porto (more photos soon) and found this amazing sculptures by the brazilian artist Izidorio Cavalcanti at Por Amor À Arte gallery. These are broken glass objects (a vase, a bottle, etc) mended with an improbable material, a thin white thread. The result is unexpected: a hardworking, delicate, and utterly hopeless attempt to overcome a big loss (the broken object) with a beautiful fragile embroidery. So good!

Mia Brownell

Fruits painted in the detailed style of old dutch still-lives, but following the molecular structure of biomolecules. I like them. Oil on canvas.

Concrete and pebbles table

I made this table with white concrete, pebbles and sand from the beach, an old road sign and the base of a stall.




I found those two terracota pieces on the beach. I suspect they may be old fishing nests wheights, but I´m not sure.

Totem

Olinda Gil gave me this totem. She spent her chilhood in Moçambique, and you can see the african influence in the colors she uses.

I finished painting the desk

Acrylic and spray on wood. This is for a school tv studio. With a desk like this, the viewers may look at it instead of paying atention to the program...
